Bellingen is a foodie destination, filled to the brim with a wide variety of cafes, bars and eateries. After a lazy morning in your cozy, cabin accommodation, take the 5 minute trip into town for your morning beverage with over 10 different cafes to choose from. All with quality barista made coffee, teas, and a multitude of other options to suit your taste. Some of our favourites include:

Amelia and Toby – local specialty coffee roasters brewing your favourite coffee, teas, chai and chocolate. The Italian style cakes and biscuits are also delicious.

Hyde Bellingen, a bustling cafe that doubles as a boutique store selling a beautiful range of homewares, clothing and wellness products.

If it’s brunch or lunch you’re after, you can’t go past the Old Butter Factory Cafe. Dating back to the 1900’s, this iconic landmark at the entry to town has been restored to incorporate a wonderful cafe that serves all day breakfast or whatever else takes your fancy. We can never go past the corn fritters.

Bellingen’s longest running cafe, the Black Bear, also dish up tasty food. You can relax under the canopy of vines and enjoy brunch or lunch while enjoying some great people watching.

In the evenings, if you are looking for good pub food and live music, head to the Federal Hotel or 5 Church Street, both of which offer a great menu selection and intimate live performances on weekends.

Celebrating your anniversary at Lilypad and looking for something special? Consider a night out at Bruno’s, our favourite local restaurant. Located in Oak St in a converted cottage, Bruno’s offers exceptional food, drinks and service in an intimate and relaxed setting. The cocktails will send you to heaven. Alternatively, Fiume is a wonderful Italian Osteria that offers simple food with big flavours and a wonderful selection of wines you may not have tried before, but won’t forget quickly.

Being self catering accommodation at Lilypad, you may wish to keep it simple and stay in, enjoying afternoon tea or a sunset meal on your private balcony. If so, you can easily stock up at the following places:

• Choose from the many delicious European style pastries, cakes and pies at the Swiss Patisserie in Church St.
• Select from an excellent range of gourmet meats, cheeses and condiments at the deli in IGA on the main street.
• Visit Thorn’s Gourmet Meats for the best BBQ selection.
• Grab some woodfired sourdough and fabulous brownies from Hearthfire Bakery.
• Indulge your sweet tooth with ice cream at Bellingen Gelato or an amazing selection of chocolates from Sweet Bellingen.

Whatever your eating preferences, Bellingen caters for all making it one of the best places to stay in the Mid North Coast.
